For the last 25 years Martin Paetzold
has been widely acknowledged within the road racing circuits as one
of the top racers of his time and then as an acclaimed suspension
tuner, proven both in South Africa and internationally.
Additionally, Martin was entered as a wildcard rider in the 1992 International Grand Prix at Kyalami where he was placed 2nd behind Pier-Francesco Chili in the 250cc race. He was awarded Springbok Colours for his achievements.
Martin retired as a competitor in 1995 and joined some of the most successful race teams such as Castrol Honda sharing his experience in setting up race bikes for Greg Dreyer and Lance Isaacs.
In 2001 Martin teamed up with Autopage Honda looking after the 600cc bikes and winning the S.A. title with Greg Dreyer. Then again in 2002 he worked with Cell C Suzuki, looking after the 1000’s and winning the title in 2004 with Hudson Kennaugh.
A year later he joined forces with Suzuki S.A. and
Hudson Kennaugh to win the 2005 GSXR European Cup Championship
MP Custom Valve was born the day Martin
swung a leg over a 50cc motorcycle, as all his own suspension was
manufactured and modified by himself and in doing so, the business
has grown in size, stature and reputation and continues to do so,
ensuring the best and most effective motorcycle suspension on the
Martin is known throughout motorcycle racing circles for his superb knowledge and passion for suspension, hence we call him the “GURU”...
